Up, Up and Away

Our adventure begins!  Our flight leaves Philadelphia for Denver at 8:25 AM.  We have a short 40 minute layover in Denver before leaving for Jackson Hole so our fingers are crossed that there are no delays.  We arrive in Jackson Hole Airport at 12:46 PM local time (2 hour time difference from Philly).

Since we are traveling so much today, our plans just include a stroll around town and dinner.  Jackson is a major gateway for tourists headed to the Tetons and Yellowstone.  It has lots of shops and restaurants.  Pictured here are the Cadillac Grille and the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar where the bar stools are saddles. Somewhere in town, there is supposed to be the world's largest ball of barbed wire, but this is not the Griswald Family Vacation so we'll skip it.  Of course, if the kids were with us, it would be a must see.

Jackson is a ski resort area and at the southern edge of the town is the Snow King Ski area and resort where we will be staying. There are lots of activities right on this property including a scenic chair lift up the mountain taking you from 6,180 ft. to 7,751 ft in 20 minutes.
